Michael Agawa is the visionary behind Kakuma Soccer Academy. Growing up with a passion for football and a deep commitment to community development, Michael saw how the game could be more than just sport — it could be a lifeline for children and youth facing challenges in Kakuma.
Football is more than a game for the children of Kakuma — it is a chance to learn discipline, build hope, and create opportunities for a brighter future. At Kakuma Soccer Academy, we are not just training players, we are shaping leaders.
With years of experience working with young people in Kakuma and a strong belief in the power of education through sports, Michael established the Academy to provide structured football training, mentorship, and life skills for kids aged 8–16.
His goal is simple yet powerful: to create opportunities, build confidence, and give every child the chance to dream beyond the pitch. Under his leadership, Kakuma Soccer Academy continues to grow as a safe and inclusive space where talent is nurtured, values are built, and communities come together through football.
KSA mission is to empower children and youth through football by nurturing talent, building character, and providing opportunities that support education, unity, and personal growth.
The vision of KaSa is a generation of resilient, confident, and empowered young people who use football as a pathway to education, leadership, and peace.
Our Programs
At Kakuma Soccer Academy, we run programs that combine sport with personal development:
Age-Based Training (U8–U16): Structured coaching sessions for boys and girls to develop technical, tactical, and physical skills.
Youth Leagues & Tournaments: Creating platforms for players to showcase their talent and foster community integration.
Girls’ Football Development: Special focus on encouraging and supporting girls to play, learn, and lead through football.
Life Skills & Mentorship: Sessions on leadership, teamwork, health, and education delivered alongside football training.
School & Community Partnerships: Working with schools, NGOs, and community leaders to strengthen peace and cohesion.
